The clutch pedal bushing is a plastic bushing at the end of the clutch master cylinder pushrod which periodically needs replacement. If the bushing is worn out, the pedal will begin to squeak as the hole in the pushrod wears oval, ruining the master cylinder, and eventually resulting in the master cylinder pushrod falling off the pedal.
If the pushrod comes off the pedal, the car cannot be started or driven, stranding you on the side of the road in some cases. We recommend replacing this item every two to three years for good measure.
