The VS-1250 block is our more economical variant designed to handle the larger builds. It is rated to handle 1250 horsepower without breaking a sweat.

Starting with either your good core block or an optional new block, we completely disassemble and inspect the components to be used, in order to make sure they will be adequate for the forces that they may see while in service. Blocks will then be minimally overbored & honed with torque plates, squared, then line-bored and line-honed for new billet main caps and studs. Any machining needed for fitment of crank scrapers, oil pick-ups, etc will be performed at this time. Displacement will be kept as close to OEM specifications as possible for maximum strength in order to minimize block deflection. We place tight restrictions on the condition of usable cores for this application.

The crankshaft will be polished, precision balanced, double keyed and fitted into the block using 160 degree main bearings with back-feed oiling to optimize oil timing. All rings will be file-fit to exacting tolerances, fit to their corresponding rod and piston assemblies, and assembled into the block using the highest quality moly-lubes and bolt stretch gauge available to ensure the fasteners are pre-loaded correctly. All components are customized for this particular application. Custom Dished CP Pistons with Severe Duty Nitride/Napier Rings, Carrillo Standard H-Beam Rods w/Multiphase 3/8" hardware, .927" 9310 Alloy WPC treated heavy-wall wrist pins, Clevite rod bearings, and a full coating package including piston domes, skirts and rod bearings are all standard.

To finish it off, we will install a custom camshaft ground to your specifications, degreed with an adjustable timing set. We can suggest a camshaft based on your application if you would like. Included with the package will also be a set of head studs, and a set of head gaskets built specifically for this package, which are required for the best performance. If possible, any other applicable items purchased with these blocks will be added to the build. For example, a clutch or oiling system will be added to the block before shipment. Complete long-block assembly is also available for an additional fee.

We will contact you after purchase to find out your exact application, head chamber cc's and any other details necessary to complete the build. These items will need to be freighted, shipping costs will be calculated and added when items are due to ship, anything paid through the the website calculator will be deducted from the final freight if necessary. Build time is generally about 10 weeks. To speed up production, expedite service is available for a fee, and can cut production time by 50%.

Select below if you would like to have your own block built to retain your matching numbers, or if you would like a new block built and shipped to you. Available options are Piston Cooling Oil Jets, which are a must for high-output engines which may see "Hot-Lapping", or just want maximum longevity. Oil Jets spray the underside of the pistons with cool oil at all times over ~1500 RPM, preventing pistons from overheating and causing detonation. All VS-1250 blocks are stamped and serialized for future reference, and build sheets will be retained.

Note: We reserve the right to refuse core blocks with damage severe enough to result in a sufficiently weakened finished product. In these cases, the components will need to be repaired or replaced before proceeding.
