These piston coatings are applied by the best name in the business. Two types of coatings are available;

Dome Coatings: Thermal barrier to reduce piston heat uptake. Protects pistons from excessive heat prolonging piston life. Small increases in horsepower have been seen due to the reduction of heat loss in the chamber.

Skirt Coatings: Sacrificial anti-friction skirt coatings aid in oil retention, galling and material transfer prevention, as well as working to quiet down piston slap noticeable with some forged piston configurations while the engine is cold.
