This is it. The Be-All, End-All of forged Dodge Viper internals. These are no joke. If you want to push the limits of your Viper beyond what even you can imagine, these are the ticket to get on the ride of your life. Plain and simple, you will not find a cut corner, an expense spared... these are not what you would call "within reason". These components are built by the best engine component manufactures out there, period. Whether you plan on setting a world record, or just simply cannot accept second best for any part that goes in your car, these are the answer.
The pistons are machined by CP, who uses unique and proprietary machining techniques to deliver what others cannot. The rods are built by Carrillo, who's success in developing the strongest rods on the market is unmatched.
These are no run of the mill off the shelf components or OEM copies. These pistons were designed from scratch by VSP to do their job, and do it better than all others. Every dimension of these components has been altered to increase strength, increase efficiency, increase life, decrease noise, and fit the Viper engine as well as possible. Even down to the rod bolts themselves, SPS-CARR Multiphase, the strongest rod bolts in the world. They are designed to last the life of the rod, no seasonal change-outs required: no matter what your power level!
These rotating assemblies are already in use in the Viper world, and have been creating a new level of efficiency previously unseen!

***OPTIONS***
Annular Groove: Circular groove cut into connecting rod pin bushing with (3) oil holes to improve pin end oiling.
Coating Package: Skirt anti-friction and dome thermal barrier will help to make your setup remain detonation free, quiet, and run cooler. The coatings are done by the best name in the business.
Forced Pin Oiling: Directly oils the wrist pin for increased life and load bearing capability, as well as increased cooling. It is highly advised to utilize the new 2005-2006 180-degree main bearing during the engine rebuild if you opt for Forced Pin Oiling, it helps to supply oil to the rod journals 100% of the time, unlike the previous 120 degree bearing design.
Gas Ports: Lateral Gas Ports increase ring sealing at high cylinder pressure or high RPM by balancing the pressure on the front and back of ring, allowing it to continue to do its job. Lateral gas ports do not clog up with Carbon over time.
Laser Marking: Laser etch package name, customer name, part numbers, cylinder number, or other engine build data onto the connecting rod beams.
Model Year: Select model year of engine block. Gen-1 price difference is due to Head Gasket cost variation compared to later generations.
Treated Pins: Standard Pin is plain 9310 alloy. WPC is an oil retention treatment, while DLC is a surface treatment of Diamond Like Carbon. WPC treatment lengthens lifespan in a normal running engine even under high stress, while DLC does the same, while also allowing wrist pins to survive most engine failures unscathed and in completely reusable condition.
***NOTE***
These are designed to work with OEM Crank Centerline, OEM rod journal diameters and OEM Stroke. We do not recommend pushing the envelope to the levels these parts are made for on a crankshaft that has had the rod journals ground for any reason, each grind reduces the strength of the crankshaft. We will contact you after your purchase to determine your bore size, the correct dome profile to match your desired final compression ratio, and to address any small changes that may need to be made in the custom parts. If you need something designed from scratch, please contact us directly. As always, final assembly is the responsibility of the engine builder, we can only give suggestions. Crankshaft will require balancing. Balancing service available if you ship your crankshaft to us, or purchase a crankshaft from us to be used with these components.
Lead times vary depending on the time of the year, generally 8 weeks. Expedite service available upon approval.
